The Songbook

The Story

What started with just a few friends who liked to hang out and sing for fun became the Aca-Perfect situation. David Kahn was a founding member of University of Central Florida’s VoiceBox, a vocal band that went on to perform at Carnegie Hall and opened for Geoff Castellucci’s legendary VoicePlay of Orlando, FL. But he wasn’t about to stay on campus.

David rose fast into the professional a cappella world at Disney, then hit the road with The Sound Exchange in Minneapolis.

When Street Corner Symphony, fresh off a top-three finish on NBC’s The Sing-Off, the same show that launched Pentatonix and Home Free, took their sound on tour, David was right there with them.

At Rollins College, he arrived on a full-ride for classical vocal performance. There, he picked up a guitar and began writing his own songs. A move to Berklee College of Music sharpened the vocal alchemy even further.

Then came the call that sounds made up. David toured Europe for months with the Stamps Quartet, featuring Ed Enoch, member of the original Stamps Quartet behind Elvis Presley for more than 1,000 concerts. David played arenas internationally for months with Ed in the Elvis Tribute that have hosted Lady Gaga and Rihanna, and every night David stood in for the late, great J.D. Sumner, singing his solos in their original keys, all the ‘Way Down’ to JD’s famous double low C. Night after night. Live.

Back in Orlando, David stepped out on his own as a solo singer-guitarist, returning to Disney and adding Universal and stages like Hard Rock Live.

Today, the focus is original music, written, sung, and lived from the road. David is currently accepting booking, but availability is limited while he is working on some new releases. Currently based in Austin, TX, but always on the road traveling and performing—so if you’d like David in your city, send a message know, and we’ll do our best to make it happen! 🎶✨

Let’s connect—stay tuned for new music!Stay tuned, and may the bass be with you.
